3 Reasons to Pack Your Electric Toothbrush

Electric toothbrushes are awesome, but are they necessary when you travel? We like to pack ours for multiple reasons! Continue reading for 3 reasons to pack your electric toothbrush when you travel for the holidays.

1. Better Brushing

If you’re looking for reasons to pack your electric toothbrush, you can start by observing the results! People have studied the use of electric toothbrushes and their studies have shown that using an electric toothbrush can help you keep your natural teeth for longer.

Not only are electric toothbrushes easier to use than a manual toothbrush, but they can also be more effective at cleaning your teeth. So, if you want to give your teeth the best care while you’re traveling, packing your electric toothbrush is a great idea.

2. Maintaining Your Routine

Routines are important and they can take a while to build. Another one of our top reasons to pack your electric toothbrush is simple: it’s important not to disrupt a routine that works. If you’re used to brushing with an electric toothbrush when you’re at home, then bring it with you on the road! Don’t break the great habits that you’ve worked so hard to build.

3. Electric Toothbrush Features

Last but not least, another reason we typically recommend packing your electric toothbrush when you hit the road is because of all the awesome added features that electric toothbrushes offer. Why sacrifice the quality of your dental care when you travel?

Most electric toothbrushes offer built-in timers to make it easy to ensure that you brush the full recommended 2 minutes each time you brush so that all your teeth get cleaned thoroughly. Pressure sensors are another great feature for those who might brush a little too hard — if you put too much pressure on the brush, it will simply stop oscillating until you relieve the pressure. But, by far, our favorite feature is the ability many electric toothbrushes have to connect to smartphone apps so that you can track your habits and get real-time feedback on your brushing technique. It’s like having a dental care coach to cheer you on every day!

Dear Patient:

We have been thinking about you and hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. Everyone has been through a lot and is ready to start normal routines again. As we welcome you back to our office, we want to reassure you that your safe treatment here is our number one goal.

We are following the most recent advice from the CDC and our professional organizations to make changes to keep you, our other patients, and our staff, safe from infection. Some changes include:

• Our staff will ask you screening questions before your appointment.
• Please use the hand sanitizer that we have available when you come into the office.
• We have removed hard-to-disinfect items in the waiting room to make it easier to clean frequently during the day.
• We are allowing more time between appointments to manage social distancing between patients.
• We may ask you to wait in your car instead of the waiting room.
• We also ask that you come into the office alone. If necessary, one caregiver or family member may come in with the patient.
• We may take your temperature before your appointment.
• You may see that all staff, including the front office staff, will be wearing masks.
• We ask that everyone who enters the office wear a face covering or mask.
• There may be other changes as we try to keep social distancing to six feet.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient, safe in our office. Please call our office at 269-782-5161 or visit our website if you have any questions or to make an appointment.

Thank you for your understanding.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,
Dowagiac Family Dentistry
